What are the composition and use of optical sights?

Optical sights are a large category of sights. If we want to return with full rewards by using sights on the hunting ground, we must first figure out what the composition and use of optical sights are.

An optical sight has at least three optical lens groups, one is the Objective Lens, the other is the Erector Tube, and the Onicular Lens, and there may be other lens groups.

The objective lens group is responsible for collecting light, so when the objective lens is larger, the scene in the sight should be brighter, and the eyepiece group is responsible for changing these rays back to parallel rays, so that the eyes can focus and create the largest field of view; and the correction lens tube group is It corrects the image of the objective lens from upside down and left and right to the correct direction, and is responsible for adjusting the magnification.

The position of the aiming line can be the first focal plane in front of the correction lens group, or the second focus plane behind it, and the wind deflection adjustment button, the height adjustment button, and the magnification ring are all used to control the correction lens tube group Left and right, high and low, front and rear positions, a good scope may have as many as 9 or more lenses in the body, and through appropriate coatings, its light transmittance may exceed 95%.

However, even if the transmittance is not so high, the brightness in the field of view may still be higher than that of the naked eye. Because the light collecting area of the general objective lens is larger than the light collecting area of the eye.

Instructions

[1] For magnification adjustment, the zoom sight is marked with a scale on the lens barrel of the eyepiece. Take 2-6 times as an example, the positioning points of 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are usually marked. The eyepiece can be rotated. The triangular graphic positioning scale on the top can be aligned with the corresponding digital scale, but objects at different distances will be blurred at some magnifications, so it is not necessary to accurately calibrate the triangular positioning scale on the number, as long as the visual object is clear.

[2] Adjustment knob, the distance compensation knob is on the top, and the wind deflection knob is on the right.

There is an arrow on the upper knob marked "up", that is, the impact point will move up when you rotate in the direction of the arrow. For example, 5 shots are fired, and the impact point is below the center of the cross. You can rotate it in the "up" direction and continuously adjust the impact point to shoot again. It will gradually coincide with the horizontal line in the center of the crosshair.

There is an arrow on the right knob marked with "L". This is to rotate in the direction of the arrow, and the impact point will be corrected to the left. Similarly, for a group of five shots, the impact point is offset to the right of the center of the cross line. It will gradually move closer to the vertical line of the crosshair.

Knowing the composition and use of the optical sight, we can use the sight flexibly to obtain abundant prey.
